Book Fairs

14th to 16th November 2025
Citi of Books (COB) was thrilled to be part of this event! Travelling all the way from Albuquerque to Beijing, COB proudly featured 16 remarkable titles from our talented authors. Among the standout selections that captivated attendees was “Headaches: Why You Have Them – What you Can Do About Them by Egilius L.H. Spierings, MD, PhD. Dr. Egilius L.H. Spierings is a pharmacologist, neurologist, headache and face pain specialist, and clinical trialist. He was born in Helmond, the Netherlands, in 1953. He attended the Erasmus University Faculty of Medicine in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, where he received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in medical sciences, a medical doctor degree, and a doctor of philosophy degree in experimental pharmacology. In terms of postgraduate education, he trained in neurology and neurosurgery at the University Hospital Dijkzigt, now Erasmus Medical Center, in Rotterdam, the Netherlands; in psychiatry at the Reinier de Graaf Gasthuis in Delft, the oldest hospital in the Netherlands; and in headache management at the Headache Research Foundation at Faulkner Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He was a professor of neurology and craniofacial pain, part-time academic faculty, at Tufts University Schools of Medicine and Dental Medicine until he retired from academia in 2018. Since, he has been the medical director of the Greater Boston Headache Center and MedVadis Research at Boston Advanced Medicine, formerly Boston PainCare, in Waltham, Massachusetts. Headaches: Why You Have Them – What You Can Do About Them by Dr. Egilius Spierings is like having a world-class neurologist sit beside you and explain, in simple and reassuring words, what’s really going on inside your head. With nearly fifty years of treating patients, researching, and helping shape major migraine treatments like triptans, CGRP antibodies, and gepants, Dr. Spierings knows headaches better than most. But what makes this book special isn’t just his expertise—it’s his compassion. He talks to the reader, not at them. He breaks down complex science into everyday language, giving you not just information, but understanding. You’ll learn what causes different kinds of headaches, what your pain might be trying to tell you, and which treatment options actually make sense for your situation. This isn’t a “take two pills and call it a day” kind of book. Instead, it helps you recognize that headaches are deeply personal—no two are exactly alike. Dr. Spierings teaches you how to evaluate your symptoms, explore evidence-based options, and advocate for proper medical care. Whether you’re a patient, caregiver, medical student, or just someone tired of the mystery surrounding migraine, this book offers clarity, hope, and real-world guidance. It bridges the gap between doctor and patient, replacing frustration with empowerment. If you’re ready to finally understand your headaches—and take control of them—this book might just be your breakthrough.

The Hong Kong Book Fair is an annual mega event that brings together publishers, authors, and readers, fostering a culture of reading. For 35 years, it has accompanied book lovers on their journey, promoting the joy of reading. This year, the Book Fair served as Hong Kong’s July Spotlight and was a key feature of the Hong Kong Summer Viva.
